Salt Lake City, Utah (2021) -I have this fascination with our need to express ourselves in all avenues of life.

This is the “Point Of View” art installation at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City. Installed in 2016, it’s made up more than 150 signs with contradicting phrases like “This or that” or “A to Z” or even “Chicken or egg.” From a specific angle, the signs align to form a red logo that points to a red bench. Maine artist Aaron T. Stephan created the piece so people could get sucked in by the large image and identify with the different pieces as they get sucked in.

I had to stand in the middle of a big intersection to get this particular angle. I probably took a few hundred shots in between getting out of the way of drivers commuting to work. Just as traffic was starting to get dangerous, I noticed a young man on his way to temple crossing. I shot a quick burst and captured the moment.
