Atlanta, Georgia (2013) - I ran across this image on the southern edge of the Cabbagetown neighborhood in Atlanta, just east of the Historic Oakland Cemetery. I happened to be directing a client film in Atlanta, when I had about an hour to grab some images. A friend had recommended Cabbagetown because it was a hot spot for artists – especially street artists. This particular type of street art is called “stencil graffiti” which often consists of applying paint across a stencil to form an image on the surface below. I started seeing the True Class images around Memorial Drive. This particular one was covering the side of an abandoned building.
