New Orleans, Louisiana (2021) - I’m fortunate that my day job as a TV/Film actor takes me to New Orleans. In 2018, I was recurring on a Hulu series, when I first saw this mural on the side of The Howlin’ Wolf music venue. I loved energy and color of this mural, and for weeks, I tried capturing an image like this, but the raging one-way traffic along Peters Street made any shot impossible. I’d even wake up early on weekends, but there’d be cars parked out front, and with people cramming the sidewalks in search for brunch.

Three years later, I returned to shoot an FX series, and I saw what the pandemic had done to this bustling city. It was a ghost town. Crickets. While I’m thrilled that I finally captured this elusive shot, I’m saddened that it took a deadly virus to make it happen.
